After you’re all stocked up poker supplies, you’re probably ready to start perfecting your game. Unfortunately that means you have to do a little more than buy poker supplies. Sure that’s a big part of it, but you also need to work on your poker face. Here are a few tips to help you out:

1)      It’s hard to keep it a secret when you’ve got a good hand. In attempts to keep it under wraps, focus on your breathing pattern. Try to keep your breathing regular and steady. This steady breathing will in turn, keep your heartbeat steady.

2)      Avoid looking other poker player straight in the eye if you have a good hand. This can indicate to the other players that you’re confident because of your hand and it can give it away in no time.

3)      Always place your chips down in the same fashion. Throwing the chips loosely in front of you can indicate to the other player that you know you aren’t getting those chips back. Watching the way your opponents put in their chips can help your with poker reads.

4)      In order to perfect your poker face, you have to really work on control and consistency. Keep the same attitude and countenance throughout the game. If you’re going to be chatty the whole game to rattle other players, be sure to do it the whole game. Nothing gives you away faster than suddenly going quiet when you’ve got a good hand.
